Papira started in a small Hamburg apartment, with scrap paper, wallpaper glue, and the idea that jewelry didn't need to be heavy to make a statement. Every earring is built from layers of paper, shaped by hand, left to dry, then painted one at a time — often over several days before it's ready to wear.
What began as a personal craft has grown into a small collection and, now, a way to share the process itself: through workshops where anyone can shape and paint their own first piece.
Papira begann in einer kleinen Hamburger Wohnung — mit Papierresten, Tapetenkleister und der Idee, dass Schmuck nicht schwer sein muss, um aufzufallen. Jeder Ohrring entsteht aus mehreren Papierschichten, wird von Hand geformt, getrocknet und einzeln bemalt.
Aus einem persönlichen Hobby ist eine kleine Kollektion geworden — und mittlerweile auch eine Möglichkeit, den Prozess selbst weiterzugeben: in Workshops, in denen jede:r das eigene erste Stück formen und bemalen kann.
